Travel Hockey
The Mid-MO Tigers field competitive teams consisting of boys and girls that play in the Missouri Hockey Youth League as well as a high school league out of Kansas City, MO.
Ages
Ages of players range from 4 years old to 18 years old. New players must receive an evaluation by a coach to ensure the safety of all players.
When
Registration opens in July 1. Practices begin the week of August 12, with evaluations starting after the first week of practices. Games will begin in late September (October for 6U and 8U teams). The season ends in early March with playoffs for 10U and above teams and the Blue Note Cup ADM Festival for 6U and 8U teams.
Where
Practices and home games are held at Washington Park Ice Arena in Jefferson City. Our teams travel to games at rinks in St. Louis, southern Illinois, Springfield MO, and additional cities as scheduled. Traveling to away games is expected of each Tiger family.
Practices
Teams practice twice weekly on Monday and Wednesday evenings with occasional practices, goalie clinics, 6U/8U scrimmages, and All Tiger Stick and Puck sessions held on Friday evenings. The Tiger practice schedule for the 2024-25 season is subject to change and will be determined as registration begins and team and age group numbers are realized.
Games
Games usually fall on weekends. 10U and older teams will typically play 20 league games over the season along with tournaments. 6U and 8U teams will play in league games, tournaments, and jamborees over the season with the goal of one to two weekends of play per month. Tiger players are expected to attend all games possible, whether home or away.
Jerseys
Home jerseys and Away jerseys and corresponding socks must be purchased and worn for games.
Extra Costs
USA Hockey membership is required for all participants.
Team managers may collect fees during the season to cover tournament entry fees. Tiger families are expected to participate in fundraising for the benefit of their player's team and the club as a whole.
10U and older parents are expected to volunteer their time as scorekeepers, scoreboard operators, or penalty box officials at games. At the 6U/8U level, parents are expected to volunteer time as time keepers for games, help to set up boards for games, and preparing for and running the annual Winter Blast Jamboree, held each year at WPIA on MLK weekend in January.
